Data engineering for AI and analytics

Data engineering builds the pipelines, warehouse and metric definitions that move data out of apps and spreadsheets into one place it can be trusted. ClearMetric builds them so your AI apps and reports draw on the same tested data, with documentation and monitoring, inside your own cloud account.

Why do AI apps need data engineering?

An AI app inherits every problem in its data: duplicates, stale records, and fields that mean different things in different systems. Tested pipelines catch those problems before the app repeats them to a customer or an analyst.

What does a build include?

  • Pipelines from your apps, databases, files and APIs, on a schedule or close to real time.
  • A warehouse or database organized for reporting and AI.
  • A metric layer: each business metric defined once, with an owner.
  • Tests on every load: row counts, duplicates, required fields and reconciliation to the source.
  • Documentation and lineage, so anyone can see where a number came from.
  • Alerts when a load fails or the data looks wrong.

Which tools do you use?

The ones that fit your team and budget: a database or cloud warehouse for storage, dbt and Python for transformation, and a scheduler or orchestrator to run them.

How a project runs

  1. Scope

    Within 1 business day

You describe the task and where the data lives. You get a written scope and a fixed price by email, or a few questions first.

  2. Build

    2 to 3 weeks

The first version is built in 2 to 3 weeks, with your dates in the scope, and tested on your own documents or data before anyone relies on it.

  3. Run

    Monthly

Monitoring, answer checks when AI models change, fixes, small changes and a monthly report, so it keeps working after launch.

Questions

Do we need a data warehouse?

Usually, once reports or AI apps pull from more than two or three systems. For a smaller setup, one Postgres database is often enough.

Can you work with our existing pipelines?

Yes. Most projects start by testing and documenting what exists, then fixing or replacing the parts that break.
